Plymouth’s Department of Public Works will accept residential storm-related tree debris at 131 Camelot Drive, Saturday and Sunday only.
Plymouth’s Department of Public Works has announced that it will accept residential storm-related tree debris at the Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 131 Camelot Drive, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. No yard waste or commercial debris will be accepted, only residential tree debris (tree branches and brush, but no leaves) as a result of the recent winter storms. DPW staff will be on hand to assist residents to properly dispose of the debris.

High tide came with 20 foot waves that pounded Bert's and Warren Avenue.
UPDATE: 5 p.m. Friday Land access to Saquish and the Gurnet has been cut off, according to the Plymouth Fire Chief. The last crossover has washed out leaving the peninsula inaccessible by land. --- Not much snow has stuck to the ground along Plymouth's coastline, but the waves continue to pound the beaches, homes and roads. The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood watch for Plymouth starting Wednesday night as another winter storm rolls through.
Plymouth's coastline will get pounded again beginning Wednesday night. The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood watch for Plymouth starting Wednesday night as another winter storm rolls through. The NWS states there is a high risk of coastal flooding and severe beach erosion during high tides beginning Thursday morning. "Moderate with even pockets of major coastal flooding is possible along the Massachusetts East Coast," the NWS's watch reads. The storm surge is projected to be between 2.5 and 3 feet with 25 to 30 foot seas offshore from late Wednesday night through Friday morning. The National Weather Service predicts four to six inches of snow today and Sunday.
The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snow and high winds today in the second snow storm in a week. The snow begins this morning with a snow/rain mix with little if any accumulation through the afternoon. The snow may be heavy Saturday night into early Sunday afternoon and winds will increase. There is the potential for heavy snow along with strong winds across the far Southeast New England coast Saturday night into early Sunday afternoon. The initially wet snow combined with strong winds could result in downed tree limbs and a few power outages, according to the NWS. Waves hammered the coast, trees and utility poles snapped, and snow burried our cars. Then the kids went outside, and the lack of electricity and heat was forgotten for a little while as families built snow forts, made snowmen (and their families), went sledding, and had epic snowball fights. NSTAR has activated its emergency response plan as preparations continue for a significant impact on the electric grid, according to a release from the utility. The company is advising customers to make advanced preparations as well. While no utility can prevent widespread power outages in the face of devastating storms, NSTAR is on high alert and workers are prepared to mobilize. “We’re well into our preparations for responding to potentially widespread power outages resulting from the nor’easter’s high winds and heavy snow,” said Craig Hallstrom, President of NSTAR Electric. “We prepare year-round for storms like this and stand ready to address damage to our system as soon as it becomes safe to do so.” As all 3,000 NSTAR employees …
