James “Whitey” Bulger was quietly examined at a Plymouth hospital last week for an irregular heartbeat, raising questions about whether his recurring health problems will keep him from his long-anticipated trial in June, according to a Boston Globe article. Bulger’s lawyer, J.W. Multiple media outlets are reporting that James "Whitey" Bulger has been hospitalized with chest pains.
Whitey Bulger was transported to Boston Medical Center after suffering from chest pains Sunday, according to multiple media outlets. A call to the Plymouth County Sherriff has not yet been returned regarding the matter, but Bulger has a history of heart problems. Bulger has been housed at Plymouth County Correctional Facility since his arrest in June 2011.

Bulger, 81, went before a federal judge today in Boston on a bail hearing after being caught in Santa Monica, California living with his long-time girlfriend Catherine Greig, 60, by federal investigators on a tip from an Icelandic woman who lives part-time in Santa Monica, according to WCVB TV. Plymouth County, as the only prison in the state to house federal inmates, will be Bulger's home until, at least, his arraignment, and likely longer.
