Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 1

It's May! (Finally) And here's what you need to know.

1. The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce will host its third annual Candidate’s Debate Wednesday night 2 in the Little Theater at PCIS on Long Pond Road. Candidates for selectman will debate beginning at 7 p.m., followed at 8 by candidates for the Planning Board. 2.  The Plymouth Carver High School Class of 1967 will hold its 45th reunion Aug. 10-12. Rooms have been reserved at the Comfort Inn, at 155 Samoset St. (508-746-2800). Room reservations are suggested by May 1, as this is Plymouth’s busy tourist season. Take a Last Lap of Plymouth North

Graduates of Plymouth North, Plymouth/Carver High School are invited for one last stroll around the halls before the building is demolished at the end of June.

Old building's contain lots of memories, but no building has seen as much angst and anger, love, heartbreak, bitterness and joy as a school building. After the graduation of the Class of 2012, the sturdy old building called Plymouth North High School will close its doors for good. The building is scheduled to be demolished at the end of June. But before the wrecking ball swings, alumni of Plymouth North and Plymouth-Carver High School are invivted for one last look around, one last chance to roam the halls, a last chance to take that shot from the foul line and a last shot to sing on the old stage. One last chance to dance. And one last chance to share the memories. May 19 and 20, the school will open its doors to alumni for an open house …

I just want to make it clear that I am in no way shape or form the "organizer". I am simply a volunteer who has been participating in the organizational meetings leading up the events on 5/19 and 5/20, helping to communicate the events on Facebook as well as volunteering in several aspects of the days activities.
