The G & G/PSHS Female Athlete of the Week is senior Madison Braz.
In last week’s Spring Track and Field competition Braz set a school record in the shot put with a throw of 36’ 75”. In addition, she walked away with a victory in the discus. The G & G/PSHS Male Athlete of the Week is junior Cameron Harold.
Last week Harold pitched 6 innings against Falmouth in a 5-3 win. Despite trouble early on, he fought through and after the second inning Falmouth did not score a run. The G & G/PSHS female athlete of the week is junior Lexy Halpin.
Over last week’s vacation, Halpin struck out 10 batters contributing greatly to the Softball Team’s victory over Falmouth. She also went 3 for 6 with 3 RBIs. Later in the week Halpin pitched a perfect game in a 5 inning decision and led the way offensively going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s.
The G & G/PSHS male athlete of the week is senior Sam Cheung.
The G & G/PSHS Male Athlete of the Week is senior Sam Cheung. He was the only tennis player to win both matches last week – one against Nauset and the other against Falmouth. Currently undefeated for over 6 matches, Cheung is team captain and maintains a 4 - 2 overall record. Undeniably, the Boys’ Tennis Team relies on Cheung for his leadership and his winning ability.

Ketterer excelled in her beam routine during the first Gymnastics meet of the season. An essential member of the team, Ketterer received a 9.0, which was the highest score of the meet. She is a very motivating captain as well.

The G & G/PSHS Male Athlete of the week is junior Michael Mele.
Thanks to Mele, South’s Basketball team finished the week with a 2-1 record. Mele led the Panther’s, scoring in all three games. Monday against Sandwich, he finished with a high of 30 points in the loss. Thursday, he finished with a high of 18 points. Saturday against crosstown rival PNHS, he finished with a game high of 29 points. Mele ended the week averaging 25.6 points per game helping South improve its record to 3-1. Terrific work, Mike!
The G & G/PSHS Female Athlete of the week is senior Alyson Messina.
During the Winter Track Holiday Qualifier, Messina’s win dominated the 55m hurdles. In addition to that she was part of the 4x400 relay team that set a school record, taking first place at last weekend’s Holiday challenge. Nice work, Aly!
