Grossman Strongly Considering Bid for Governor

State Treasurer Steve Grossman told WCVB's "On the Record" that he is "leaning strongly" toward running for governor.

  Although Steve Grossman has already acknowledged a possible run for governor in 2014, the Newton resident and state treasurer is now saying that he is "leaning strongly" toward a gubernatorial bid.  As reported today by State House New Service, Grossman told WCVB's "On the Record" that he has not made a final decision on whether to run for governor, but that he is "leaning strongly in that direction" [to run]. The "On the Record" episode with Grossman aired yesterday, January 6.  Grossman, a Democrat, told WCVB that being governor is "a role I'm very comfortable playing." New District Map Means a Move for Bill Keating

Congressman Bill Keating said he will move to Bourne in order to run in the newly formed 9th Congressional District.

Most of the South Shore will be part of a new congressional district after the state Legislature approved sweeping changes to congressional districts aimed at providing a stronger voice to minority communities and adjust for a slowly growing population. Congressman Bill Keating, who recently moved to Quincy, will move to Bourne in order to run in the newly formed 9th Congressional District. "After talking with my wife Tevis and our children, Kristen and Patrick, I have decided to run in the new 9th Congressional District where we've owned a home for 17 years," Keating said in a statement. Keating currently represents Plymouth in the 10th Congressional District, while Stephen Lynch of Boston represents the current incarnation of the 9th. …
