The Old Colony YMCA Plymouth Branch/Camp Clark launches its Annual Support Campaign with $2,500 from Andrew Carter and Wells Fargo Advisors. This important campaign helps families in need by providing financial assistance to YMCA Camp Clark and after school programs. “We are happy to support Camp Clark because it provides positive interactions for children. It provides an outlet for children to get away from electronic devices and video games and to experience the ‘great outdoors’ while exploring personal interests, discovering creativity and making lasting friendships and memories,” states Andrew Carter, a long time Board member for the Plymouth Branch/Camp Clark. The remnants of Isaac have caused minor damage across the region, knocking out phones and power in parts of Plymouth.
Today's thunderstorms have knocked out phones and power to parts of Plymouth. At the YMCA's Camp Clark, power and phones are out according to the Old Colony YMCA's Facebook page. Update for Plymouth Community Based Child Care and Camp Clark: Due to the weather, power and phones have been lost. Staff can be reached via email or cell phone in case of emergency. Local Comcast employees and their families and friends volunteered to improve Old Colony YMCA’s Camp Clark as part of Comcast’s "Comcast Cares Day," Saturday, April 21, Comcast employee volunteers spent the day landscaping the grounds, painting picnic tables, planting window boxes and cleaning the grounds to get the camp ready for the busy summer season. Since its inception in 2001, Comcast Cares Day has become one of the largest single days of corporate volunteering in the country. More than 67,000 Comcast volunteers will participate in this annual day of service. Over the previous 10 “Comcast Cares Days” Comcast volunteers have dedicated more than 2.1 million hours of service.
