Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 18

It's finally the weekend and here's what you ought to know.

1. Bert's Landing is hosting a search for calendar girls tonight at 9 p.m. and you can vote. Click here for more information 2. The Bill McGoldrick Duo is performing tonight at Pilgrim Sands. 3. The Plymouth Center for the Arts will present an oil painting demonstration by Sean Cassidy from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Sean currently teaches at Bridgewater State University, and Quincy College.  His most recent works have dealt with figurative subjects.  His figurative work uses aerial maps and layers of thin glazes of oil to create an ethereal quality.  Sean will give a 2 hour demo of his painting technique.  His work can currently be seen at the Plymouth Center for the Arts, 11 North Street, Plymouth.  The cost is $5 and the event is open to the …

It's finally Friday and here are the things you ought to know today.

1. Bert's Landing is hosting the Models of Mystique calendar girl search night at 9 p.m. 2. Catch A Dangerous Method at Plimoth Cinema tonight at 4:30 and 7 p.m. 3. Tomorrow, head down to Sagamore Beach to the Swift Memorial Activity Center & Thrift Shop for the Winter Carnival for outdoor ice skating, snowman making competition, carnival games, ice sculpture demonstrations, face painting, food and crafts and a live owl show.
