The seventh annual golf classic to benefit the Fund for the Needy of St. Bonaventure Parish in Manomet will be held at Waverly Oaks Country Club in Plymouth Thursday, May 23.

1. Plymouth's Run for 1 to support Boston's One Fund, takes place at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 25 starting at Pilgrim Memorial Park on the waterfront. The entry is fee is $25 per person or register a team for $100. Participants are encouraged to donate more. 2. Sending care packages to troops overseas is a time-honored tradition. This Memorial Day, Emeritus is continuing the tradition by announcing “Heroes Emeritus” – an initiative to deliver care packages to local senior veterans and veterans' families and to honor them for their service. The care packages will consist of nightlights, first aid kits, medication management containers, water bottles, nutritious snacks and other items to help ensure our local heroes are safe in their homes. …
