In the Schools: MCAS, Music, and Mother's Day Continued

A regular feature on the upcoming week in Plymouth schools.

MCAS and Mid-Term

MCAS testing will begin on Tuesday, May 10, for grades three through five. The mid-term date is Friday, May 13.

Mr. Paladino visits the fifth graders at Nathaniel Morton and West Elementary Monday, May 9. Nathaniel Morton will also be hosting a 100th birthday planning meeting Monday, May 9, in the library, and a PTA meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the library.

Kindergarten information sessions will be held at South Elementary Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. and at West Elementary Thursday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday is also early dismissal day at Sacred Heart Elementary at 12:35 p.m. and Rising Tide Charter School at noon. Rising Tide will also be hosting New Family Orientation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 14, and an Alumni Reunion from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Put a Spring in your Step

Manomet Elementary is holding a chorus/band/strings Spring Concert Monday, May 9, at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Cold Spring will be presenting a chorus program at 7 p.m., Friday, May 13.  Additionally, Plymouth Community Intermediate School will be presenting Mulan Jr., a musical, Friday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Bookworms and Wordsmiths

The Title One Lending Library will be held Tuesday at Hedge Elementary School from 3:30 to 6 p.m.  Also, Federal Furnace’s Scrabble Club will be meeting Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Get Moving

The Kickball Club at Federal Furnace is meeting this Monday, May 9, from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.  Additionally, Nathaniel Morton’s Kidswalk Family Fun Day and Bone Marrow Drive is taking place this Saturday, May 14. The Kidswalk starts at 9 a.m. and the Bone Marrow Drive begins at 10 a.m.will be featuring

An Evening Out

The Plymouth schools have a variety of fun evening events planned this week. Monday, May 9, Plymouth South High School is featuring antique autos at Cruise Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the football field parking lot. A hypnotist will visit Plymouth North High School Wednesday, May 11, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Plymouth South’s seniors’ talents will be on display at the Senior Art Exhibition at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 12. Plymouth South Middle School will be holding an Extravaganza Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., and West Elementary is hosting Movie Night Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m.

Thanks, Mom

The Freshman Cosmetology Class at Plymouth South High School is extending the Mother’s Day sentiment by holding a Mother’s Day Celebration to honor all the women in their lives who have made a difference by giving manicures and hand massages Tuesday, May 10, and Wednesday, May 11.

For a Good Cause

Plymouth South High School is hosting a Carwash Fundraiser to benefits the sports program Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the PSHS Parking Lot.
