Plymouth Has Some Of Mass's Oldest Homes

Plymouth has some of the oldest homes on the South Shore and in the state.

In a list of the top 100 Massachusetts’ towns with the oldest homes, Plymouth ranked No. 51 with 50.6 percent of its homes built before 1939, according to WCVB.

Hingham was the highest ranked South Shore town on the list at No. 15. Plymouth is second in the South Shore. Hull, Duxbury, Kingston, Middleborough, and Onset also made the list. North Plymouth was listed at number 69 with 47.6 percent of homes built before 1930.

Warren ranked No. 1 with 85.6 percent of homes built before 1939. Chester, MA ranked No. 2 and Northfield was No. 3.

The list was compiled by WCVB.com and was based on numbers from the 2011 census which was released in December of 2012.
