What is the Worst Intersection in Plymouth?

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation issued it's annual Top Crash Locations report this week, surprisingly not one intersection in Plymouth is among the top 208. So we ask, which intersections are on your list of the worst?

Does the intersection at Westerly Road and Summer Street drive you crazy? Or maybe you can't see around the cars parked on Court Street as you try getting out of South Green Street?

Well, Plymouth roads are reasonably safe, according to a new report by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation listing the top crash locations in the state. Not one Plymouth intersections cracks the top 208.

The closest intersections on the list are in Middleborough, where the intersections of Route 105 and East Grove Street (number 91) and Route 44 and Plympton Street (155) are listed.

Check out the map created by MassDOT.

Coming out of Newfield Street and trying to see oncoming traffic from the right on Summer Street is nearly impossible with all the parked cars. And coming out of Towns Street onto South is dangerous the way cars fly around that bend at Towns and South Streets. And there's a crosswalk there-- imagine if anyone tried to use it?????

There are 2 spots in Plymouth that make me anxious when I drive through them. The 1st is going South on Court street at the intersection of Samoset and Court. Two lanes go into one. You never know which lane to go in as the are both marked with a straight arrow. If both cars are planning on heading straight onto Court/Main street it could get ugly. The second is the same situation but on Long Pond Road heading South at the intersection of Long Pond and Camelot (In front of PCIS) again two lanes going into to one, and there is always the person in a hurry (or showing off) that needs to speed up and pass everyone.

The traffic light at Hedge School. Some people don't seem to know what a red light means, or know to watch for the crossing guard when the school kids are going in or coming out.

The dramatic increase in traffic, over the past 15 years, at the intersection of Long Pond Road and Beaver Dam Road definitely warrants a traffic light. We have been asking for one there for the past 15 years !!!

The ENTIRE route from the old 44 (Carver Road) From Esta Road through to Rte 80.. It's a cut through speedway to get to the Old Colony Place area. No one stops for stops signs and the speed is out of control. Many children along this route and the town has been petitioned by residents for years to do something once they opened up this speedway with disregard to stop signs and intersections as well!!!!

By far the worst intersection is Standish Avenue/Liberty/Hall Streets. Very few people obey the stop signs, and the accidents are many. Also, speeding on Standish Avenue is the cause of many accidents. I live on the corner and just wait to hear the crash after the squeal of brakes. AND, why people blow the horns instead of slowing down is beyond me.

Rocky Hill Rd. and State Rd. for some reason drivers are unable to take a left onto Rocky Hill without cutting others off, even though you can see ahead for 1,000 yards. Drivers also go way too fast on that section of State Rd.
