Plymouth has been without a full-time assistant town manager for a year; Tuesday, Town Manager Melissa Arrighi announced that the position has finally been filled.
Arrighi has been filling both roles since she was appointed Town Manager last year, after the previous town manager, Mark Stankiewicz, resigned suddenly last April after Town Meeting basically offered a vote of "no confidence" in the Board of Selectmen a few weeks earlier.
Arrighi told the board that more than 90 applicants inquired about the position, according to WATD.
The man for the job is Michael Galla, who is currently the director of administration in Horsham Township, Penn. The job entailed oversight of daily operations of town departments in a community of twenty-six thousand people. He holds a Masters Degree in Government and Political Affairs from Villanova University.
Galla will begin his duties in Plymouth May 28.
