From a release from Rep. deMacedo's office
Representative Vinny deMacedo, R-Plymouth, was recently re-appointed to serve a sixth term as the ranking Republican on the House Committee on Ways and Means by House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones Jr., R-North Reading. The appointment was ratified by the Republican Caucus.
“I’m again honored by the faith and trust that Minority Leader Brad Jones has placed in me as being the leading advocate for the Republican caucus on the House Committee on Ways and Means,” deMacedo said. “I take this responsibility very seriously and am committed to working closely with my fellow committee members to maintain fiscal discipline in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”
While Representative deMacedo anticipates a busy legislative agenda, he will join his Republican colleagues in remaining focused on economic recovery, fiscal responsibility, and creating an open and accountable state government.
“Vinny is both a great leader and a tireless advocate for the residents of the First Plymouth District,” said Representative Jones. “The upcoming legislative session will be full of extremely pivotal decisions, and I have the utmost confidence that Representative deMacedo will play an integral role in offering fiscally responsible solutions to deal with the current financial dilemmas facing the Commonwealth. I look forward to serving with him in his capacity as Ranking Republican on House Ways and Means for another two years.”
deMacedo, a Cape Verde native, was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1999. This past November he was elected to his eighth term representing the First Plymouth District on Beacon Hill.
