Three Plymouth Teachers Lose Everything in Marc Drive Fire

Three Plymouth Public Schools music teachers are homeless after fire destroyed their apartment over the weekend.

The three-alarm fire at The Groves at Summer Hill apartment complex seriously damaged two buildings and destroyed apartments--leaving several residents homeless. No one was injured in the fire, which was reportedly caused by a cigarette.

The three teachers, two of whom work at Plymouth South High School, had an apartment directly below the fire.

Local businesses are already helping the victims. Red Robin is offering free meals to the victims.

Plymouth school staff has also rushed to the aid, and is offering a way for residents to help.

Gift card donations can be dropped off or mailed to the Visual and Performing Arts Office at Plymouth Community Intermediate School, 117 Long Pond Road.

Gift cards for groceries and department stores are helpful as all of the teachers' possessions were destroyed. Cards can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PSHS posted the information on its Facebook page and added this message: ''ANY help is GREATLY appreciated! Please keep the teachers in your thoughts and we are so happy they are ok!"
