Plymouth County Sheriff's Department Makes Donation to Boston's One Fund

Plymouth County Sheriff's Department employees donated $1,400 to Boston's One Fund through fundraising efforts last week.

Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr. said he was proud of his staff Friday when he and members of the department presented the check to the One Fund.

"It never ceases to amaze me to see how charitable our staff is at the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department," McDonald said. "Members of our Bureau of Criminal Investigation team and an Officer from the correctional facility took the initiative to organize a fund raiser and generate $1,400.00 to donate to One Fund Boston. I am very proud of these fine men and women."

Officer Mark Shubert and Allison Madden of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation partnered with Officer Ellen Sheehy from the print shop to organize the fundraiser. "After the bombing we knew that we had to take action. As public safety professionals it is a natural instinct for us to help victims and the men and women of the Sheriff's department responded to the call," Shubert said

The One Fund Boston was formed to assist victims and families affected by the tragic events at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013 and in the days that followed. In the weeks after the Marathon, through the incredible generosity of thousands of individuals, foundations and corporations, One Fund Boston has raised more than $64 million for the victims and the families."
