Plymouth Police Officer Gregg Maloney to be Laid to Rest Tuesday

Hundreds of officers from across the state remembered fallen officer Monday night.

Police officers from across the state gathered in Plymouth Monday night to pay their respects to Officer Gregg Maloney. Maloney was killed in a motorcycle accident on Samoset Street in Plymouth last week. The crash is currently under investigation.

Maloney’s wake was held Monday night at the Memorial Hall in Plymouth. His funeral is Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 86 Court St. in Plymouth.

Maloney, 43, who served on the Plymouth Police Department for 17 years, was married and had two teenage boys.

Following his funeral services, a procession will proceed from St. Peter's Church after the funeral along Court Street to Summer Street and up to Vinehills Cemetery, where Maloney will be buried. The Plymouth Police Department will march on foot in the procession, which will also include motorcycles from the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Mobile Operations Unit.

During today’s services, Court Street in downtown Plymouth will be closed to vehicles from Samoset to Brewster Streets. Closures will also be in place along part of Summer Street and no parking will be allowed on the roadways during Tuesday’s services.
