Plymouth Captain's Gun Recovered

A gun left in a Wareham court bathroom has been recovered.

A service weapon belonging to a Plymouth police officer that was lost last week has been recovered.

Plymouth Police Captain John Rogers accidentally left his Smith and Wesson.357 revolver in the bathroom at Wareham District Court around 3 p.m. Jan. 28 when he returned, the gun was gone.

The courthouse was immediately locked down as Wareham Police and court officers searched for the weapon.

Police aren't saying just how the gun was tracked down, but do not plan to file any criminal charges and say the case is closed. The gun was recovered around 5:30 p.m. Jan. 30.
