The state’s chief medical examiner has ruled that both Boston firefighter Michael Kennedy and Lt. Ed Walsh died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries while battling a nine-alarm blaze in Boston’s Back Bay in late March, according to NECN.

The manner of their deaths was determined to be an accident, according to the report.

This past Sunday, the Boston Fire Department honored the fallen firefighters at cemeteries in Jamaica Plain and Dorchester.

The owners of the now destroyed brownstone at 298 Beacon St. have filed a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against the owners of the neighboring brownstone, at 296 Beacon St., and the Malden welding company, which allegedly sparked the blaze. The owner of the welding company has denied any blame.

Kennedy and Walsh were West Roxbury natives.

A Marine Corps veteran, Kennedy, 33, lived in Hyde Park. Walsh, 43, of West Roxbury, left behind a wife and three children, all under 10.

First let be state that the death of the two Boston firefighters was tragic. Second, I attended a fundraiser to support their families in Framingham sponsored by the Framingham Fire Department. BUT SERIOUSLY how is this breaking news in Natick, where I work, and Framingham where I live???????

The almighty buck D Penta. How do you reach people and then sell something without climbing on the backs of fallen Firefighters? Not the classic way and I have no way to tell if its effective. Probably cheaper than a bill board. Fundraisers are exceptable to me. I totally agree Breaking news indeed.
