On the heels of the states continuing examination of public safety and land-based industrial wind turbine siting (see Oct 31, 2013 investigation by the state’s Department of Public Utilities for the Siting of Land-Based Wind Energy Facilities and the MassDEP Wind Turbine and Noise Technical Advisory Group (WNTAG) who’s mission is to advise; protect public health, safety and well-being relative land-based industrial wind energy projects)FGW recently won approval from the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) school committee and the Duxbury Board of Selectmen to contract the sale of renewable energy credits (RECs) to reduce future school and municipal electricity costs.
