Making a Difference: Duxbury Style
WRITTEN BY GILLIAN SMITH
Selectman Shawn Dahlen explained ...“The town of Duxbury is neither the developer nor the person putting this together, we are a consumer and we are consuming credits that will amount to a considerable savings for the town.” (excerpt from G. Smith's ""Wind on the horizon: voters approve pursuing power agreement"" in the Duxbury Clipper)
Many of the world's countries were neither the developers or the sellers of South African krugerrands. Those countries that purchased them were only the consumer of the gold pieces that were expected to amount to a beneficial investment. That global policy stopped abruptly when a coalition of countries (consumers) took action to withdraw further and future Krugerrand purchases until the South African system of racial segregation (Apartheid) was eliminated.

I'd ask duxbury Selectmen... where's the difference? Are Duxbury Selectmen enabling potential systematic harm upon neighbors of other towns by rewarding a Plymouth developer to deliver a fiscal benefit to Duxbury?
