Looking Back At 2012 And Ahead At 2013 - The Pinehills

Last night, I had the privilege of attending the 8th annual Pinehills Broker Appreciation Dinner. I enjoy this event every year because it gives me a chance to network with fellow Realtors as well as hear first hand all the great things going on within the 3,000 plus acres of Plymouth now known as The Pinehills. There's no question about it, there's lots going on!

Some of the 2012 highlights included more new home sales than in any year since 2007. Combined new home sales and resales of existing homes totalled more than any year since 2005. Fifty percent of the building permits issued by the town of Plymouth in 2012 went to the builders at The Pinehills. National awards were bestowed upon builders MacKenzie Brothers and Barefoot Cottage Company. More than 1,500 homes have now been sold, which is only half of the total number approved by the town of Plymouth. Since 2001 when the first homes were sold at The Pinehills, the greatest number of new residents have come from the towns of Plymouth, Duxbury and Marshfield. In addition, many residents have relocated to The Pinehills from other South Shore towns as well as from Boston, Cape Cod, and numerous other states across the country. The year 2012 also saw expansion of the popular Rye Tavern restaurant, robust activity for businesses located in the Village Green, Design Housing was brought in as the new builder in the Seton Highlands neighborhood, and other neighborhoods came close to completion - including the 550 home Winslowe's View condominium community.

The 2013 future is bright for The Pinehills with the grand opening of the new Townhomes at Green Gate which are adjacent to the Village Green, a new neighborhood of 82 homes to be developed by Whitman Homes on the south side of Clark Road, more great Cottage style homes, and the ground breaking for the elegant Mirbeau Inn & Spa just to name a few. There are sure to be a host of exciting events open to the general public all year long so be sure to join in.

I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Tony Green, John Judge, and the many wonderful people that make up the fine staff at The Pinehills, not only for hosting an annual dinner but for following through on the vision that started back in the 1990's to create a community within the town of Plymouth that would be like no other while preserving many acres of open space and not creating a huge burden on the services provided by the town. If you haven't been through The Pinehills for a while (or maybe never at all), take a drive around. It's impressive. I can't wait to see what comes next!
