Volunteers Sand and Paint Interior of Mayflower II

As visitors toured the Mayflower II on Friday morning, Sept. 27, volunteers from the tourism industry diligently sanded the interior of the replica ship that was built in 1955.

The volunteers, which also painted the interior of the ship, were in Plymouth as part of two-day effort organized by Tourism Cares, a Canton-based nonprofit that brings tourism industry professionals together to preserve travel destinations.

"Words can't express our gratitude," said Buddy Tripp, the Program Manager on the Mayflower II.
