"The Sunshine Boys" at Priscilla Beach Theatre

Priscilla

Beach Theatre (PBT) proudly presents Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys”, Nov. 1, 2, 8 & 9, at 8 p.m. and Nov. 3 & 10 at 2 p.m. at PBT’s newly remodeled black box theatre. Directed by Conni DiLego, the adult cast features actors
from throughout the region, including Jack Craib as Al Lewis and local legend
Geronimo Sands as Willie Clark, both of Plymouth.

“The
Sunshine Boys” is the story of a grudging reunion between former top-billed vaudevillians “Lewis and Clark” who, despite their comedic chemistry on stage, can’t stand each other offstage.  As the cantankerous comedians are forced to reunite for a television retrospective, they are brought back together, along with a flood of memories, miseries and laughs.

“This
is a hilarious play that guarantees some good old-fashioned belly-laughs,” says
DiLego.  “We have a great cast that
really understands how to deliver a funny line. Our audience is destined to
fall under Lewis and Clark’s comedic spell.  This is a hot ticket.”

Acclaimed
for his off-Broadway role in “The Fantasticks” and his original one-man show
“The World of Carl Sandburg”, Sands says he’s been eyeing this role in “The

Sunshine Boys” for a long time.  “I
am thrilled to return to PBT’s stage in this wonderfully funny show,” says
Sands.  “Neil Simon is a great playwright

and I’m just so grateful to get the chance to play Willie Clark.  It’s a role that lets me go into that
funny place in my heart.  The lines
are brilliant and it’s just pure fun.
I know our audience will laugh, smile and cry along with us.”
