South Shore Locavores: Local Home Cooking

Wondering what to have for dinner? How do you keep "cooking local" in the middle of February. How do other families really cook and stay true to their passion and ethical food choices? Is local more important than organic? How do you eat vegan when the rest of the household doesn't? How can you continue to make those local root vegetables interesting meal after meal?

This special gathering will be a panel discussion featuring Dorian Greenbaum, Erin Carpenter, Erika Stern, Cindy Gallo-Casey, and Rosa Galeno, all excellent home cooks, some of whom are professional chefs. We'll take a peek into their home kitchens and hear about how they really cook in their day-to-day lives. And we'll learn some tips and techniques to make our own cooking easier along the way.

Everyone is welcome. As always, there will be great door prizes!.

The gatherings are free. However, donations up to $10 will be gratefully accepted to help cover expenses. Any surplus will be used towards library book purchases. South Shore Locavores is a collaboration between the Kingston Public Library and edible South Shore and South Coast magazine.
