Souper Bowl Saturday at The Market!

Plymouth, MA – On Saturday, February 1st the biggest football weekend of the year will be celebrated at The Market at The Pinehills with their first ever Souper Bowl Saturday! For just $5 guests can sample five soups and fresh baked bread from The Market Bakery with a portion of the proceeds to benefit The Plymouth Food Warehouse. In addition to FIVE great soups guests will get a tasting of desserts from The Market’s Bakery. All soups will be prepared by The Market’s Chef Dane, trained at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America.

Soups included at Souper Bowl Saturday will feature
Chef Dane’s Chicken Soup, Broccoli Cheddar, Fejoada Brazilian Stew, Tomato Basil Rice Soup (a “Healthy Options” soup approved by our Healthy Plymouth partner, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Dietician, Marcia Richards) and; People’s Choice soup recipe which will be voted on by visiting http://themarketpinehills.com.

All soups will be available for purchase the day of the

event (while supplies last). To get you ready for Souper Bowl Saturday Chef

Dane’s Chicken Soup (yield ½ gallon):

Remove meat from 4 Rotisserie Chickens.

Simmer bones in 1 gallon water for 1 hour.

Drain and cool. Skim off fat once cooled.

Reheat stock; add 2
whole large carrots, peeled and chopped. 4 Stalks celery, cleaned and chopped
and 1 large white onion, diced.

Dry parsley, salt and pepper to taste.


Simmer until all
vegetables are tender, about 45 minutes.


Add picked chicken
meat to fresh soup.

Add cooked rice or pasta if desired.


Souper Bowl Saturday will take place from noon – 2pm at The Market at The Pinehills. 95.9 WATD-FM will broadcast live and representatives from the Plymouth Food Warehouse will be onsite accepting donations.
