Film in the Field

In this 1952 drama a fictionalized version of the Mayflower voyage unfolds. While the Pilgrims aboard the ship seek religious freedom, Capt. Christopher Jones is only looking to make a profit. However, during the long storm-filled crossing, Capt. Jones falls in love with Dorothy Bradford, the wife of William Bradford. The tensions of this ill-fated romance culminate in a dramatic conclusion off the coast of Cape Cod.

Families and individuals alike are invited to bring a blanket and camp out under the stars while watching this family-friendly movie play on the big screen in the Museum’s field. Popcorn and watermelon will be for sale during the event.

Where: Grassy field adjacent to the Museum’s main parking lot
