South Shore Skin Center, headquartered in Plymouth, has purchased a 37,000 square foot medical building located at 75 Washington Street on Route 53 in Norwell. Previously owned by South Shore Medical Associates, Inc., the building, situated on almost 6 acres of land, was the home of South Shore Medical Center. South Shore Medical Center will remain in the building as a tenant through the end of 2013.
In January of 2014, extensive renovations will begin in Norwell to convert the present structure into the new flagship location of South Shore Skin Center & Spa. Grand Opening is scheduled for July of 2014. At that time, the all-new Norwell location will absorb the organization's smaller Cohasset clinic. South Shore Skin Center will continue to operate its original, award-winning Plymouth location. South Shore Skin Center will occupy roughly one third of the new building. The remaining space will be leased to other medical practices.

With a staff of 60, South Shore Skin Center is co-owned by Dr. Eisen and Ramzi W. Saad M.D. The practice is one of only two in the region to offer a Mohs Surgery Unit specializing in precise, microscopically-controlled surgery used to treat common types of skin cancer. During Mohs surgery, small layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively removed and examined until only cancer-free tissue remains. According to the Mayo Clinic, the goal of Mohs surgery is to remove the entire skin cancer, while doing minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue. Mohs surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis using a local anesthetic.)
The Spa component of the Center will offer a full menu of services from microdermabrasion and organic facials to cosmetic dermatology treatments addressing everything from acne scarring and brown age spots to spider veins, tattoo removal, laser hair removal and therapeutic massage. The Spa staff specializes in Botox treatments as well as Sculptra, the subtle facial injectable that replaces lost collagen to deliver a natural, more youthful appearance.
