Recycling for a cause. Lombard Waste Services totes percentage of 3rd quarter gross to cancer fundraiser.

To Matt Romboldi, owner of Lombard Waste Services, Inc., business is personal. That’s why Lombard Waste Services will be donating one percent of its gross to the Run for Faith, a four-mile road race/cancer fundraiser in memory of Matt’s late mother, Faith “Marcy” Romboldi. The run takes place on Sunday, August 24 and begins at Plymouth Plantation.

“This is the fourth year we’ve held the Run for Faith and we’ve raised thousands of dollars for Dana Farber’s Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, scholarships for graduating seniors at both Plymouth North and Plymouth South, and other local Plymouth charities that were near and dear to my mother’s heart,” said Romboldi. “Donating one percent of our gross for the third quarter is just another way we can help more people with the money raised by the Run For Faith.”

To kick off the third quarter fundraising drive, Lombard Waste Services will be distributing new teal and yellow recycling bins for current Plymouth customers. The teal totes are designated as a single-source recycling bin. That means plastics, glass, cardboard and paper can all be collected together, without having to be separated, in the teal bin (teal is the color for ovarian cancer awareness, the type of cancer Mrs. Romboldi died from).
