Used Book Superstore to Close Plymouth Location

Used Book Superstore opened in Plymouth last fall and is closing Aug. 31 due to lack of sales.

Used Book Superstore opened in Plymouth last fall and is already closing, according to an email sent out to customers late last week.

"After 10 months of giving it our best shot, we are sad to report that we will be closing this location," the email, from company president Bob Ticehurst reads.

The store's last day in business will be Saturday, Aug. 31. The store, located at 132 Samoset St., will have clearance sales until the end of the month.

"We hired a remarkable staff in this location, who all did their best to provide a clean, well-stocked and well-merchandised bookstore.  Unfortunately, we have not been able to hit the numbers we need to hit to make this location work.  We will never rule out trying another location on the South Shore in the future, but at the present time, being such a small company, we need to focus on running stores that generate enough sales to support the expenses that are generated at each location."

Used Book Superstore has locations in Burlington, Danvers, and Salem, New Hampshire, and is opening a new location in Wilmington.
