Pioppi's Invites You to Cruise With Wines

Pioppi's will take it's patrons on a wine cruise of Plymouth Harbor with local restaurants this summer.

, Plymouth’s oldest package store, has announced the schedule for their 2012 “Wine Cruise” series. The “Wine Cruise” series was started nine years ago and has grown in popularity each and every year since.

The format of each cruise pairs a fantastic sampling of eight potent potables, four great dishes from local restaurants, an informative speaker and beautiful views of Plymouth Harbor. Each week’s cruise feature’s a unique theme. This year’s events have branched out to include beer and tequila, as well, and Pioppi’s has added new restaurants to their line-up of partners.

“We’re really looking forward to this year’s cruises,” Peter Balboni, owner of Pioppi’s, said. “I can’t think of a better way to spend a Thursday night in the summer than on the water with some great wine, great food and a great group of people”.

This year’s schedule features six cruises which take place on Thursday evenings beginning July 12. Local favorite “The Lobster Tales” provides the venue and boards along the Plymouth Town Wharf.  Departure time is always 7 p.m. Passengers are limited at 28 each week and tickets are $50 per person. Because of limited seating, tickets are expected to sell out quickly.

The 2012 schedule is as follows:

  • July 12 -- “Brews by the Sea” with and Driftwood Publick House & Oysteria
  • July 19 -- “South of the Border” with Milagro Tequila and Driftwood Publick House & Oysteria

  • August 9 -- “California Dreaming” with
  • August 16 -- “Night of Sommeliers” with Rye Tavern
