Health Express Walk-in Urgent Medical Care held a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday, April 15 for it’s new location in Plymouth at 59 Long Pond Road.
Owners Dr. Chris Whelan and Dr. Michael Hughes celebrated the grand opening of Health Express Plymouth with a ribbon cutting, a Teddy Bear Clinic for children and a live remote broadcast by WATD 95.9 FM.
Plymouth’s first urgent care center is staffed by experienced, emergency medical physicians, including John A. Arcuri, MD, FACEP; Donald J. Hansen, MD, FACEP and Emil Reinhalter, MD, FACEP, according to a press release from the company.
“At Health Express we look long and hard to find the most qualified emergency room physicians in the area and Dr. Arcuri, Dr. Reinhalter and Dr. Hansen certainly fit that mold,” said Dr. Hughes in the release. “We’re delighted that they have chosen to join our team at Health Express and run our new Plymouth location.”
Health Express offers unique benefits to Plymouth area residents, including:
- Staffed exclusively by Board Certified Emergency Room Physicians
- Walk-in service, which doesn’t require referrals
- Low wait times
- On-site lab and x-rays
- Most insurance polices are accepted, with co-pays comparable to a regular office visit
Health Express physicians see common ailments including: coughs, cold, flu, sore throat, earaches, fractures, lacerations, asthma, sports injuries and rashes. The doctors will also provide physicals for their patients.
Health Express Plymouth is the third urgent care center run by Dr. Whelan and Dr. Hughes. The original center, located at 330 Washington St. in Weymouth, opened in early 2012. The second location, at 117 Old Church St. in Pembroke, welcomed its first patient in April 2013.“Walk-in urgent care is a concept that has been very successful in many areas throughout the US, and we’ve seen over the past three years that it’s a welcomed idea here on the South Shore,” said Dr. Whelan. “Health Express is advantageous for the patient, for insurance companies and the health care system as a whole.”
