Bank of America to Close Downtown Branch

Bank of America, the largest bank in Massachusetts, will close its downtown Plymouth branch in March.

Bank of America Corp., the biggest bank in Massachusetts, plans to close four more branches in the state in March.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based bank announced that it plans to close offices at Center Plaza in Boston, Chace Road in Freetown, Court Street in Plymouth, and North Main Street in Springfield, FOX25 reports. In addition, the bank plans to eliminate the drive-up window at its branch on Main Street in Westfield.

The Massachusetts closures are part of a wider plan by the bank to close 750 of its roughly 5,700 U.S. branches and eliminate at least 30,000 jobs over the next few years, according to FOX.
