Wings of Freedom Tour in Plymouth: B-24J Liberator

The B-24J Liberator is one of three World War II aircraft that visited Plymouth this week

The Collings Foundation 24th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour stopped at the Plymouth Municipal Airport this week. Three restored aircraft were on display Monday, Sept. 23, through Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The planes that visited Plymouth include the B-24J Liberator, the P-51C Mustang and the B-17G Flying Fortress.

Visitors were given a chance to enter the planes and even take a flight after the tours.

The B-24J that landed in Plymouth this week is the only restored flying B-24J in the world.

The plane honors the 8th Air Force, which served in England during WWII. The "Witchcraft," which features a cartoon witch on the nose, completed 130 combat missions.
