Expect Slick Roads During Monday Evening Commute

Snow this afternoon turning to rain and sleet will mean a slippery drive for commuters tonight.

There may be an inch of snow on the ground Monday evening during the evening commute, according the National Weather Service.

Even though not much snow will fall, snow, sleet and rain will create a slick commute tonight. The NWS has issued a winter weather advisory which will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts snow between 2 and 5 p.m. this afternoon in the Plymouth area. The precipitation will change over to sleet and rain later in the evening. Based on the forecast, a chance of rain and sleet will continue into Tuesday morning.

The temperature will begin to rise Tuesday, as it hovers in the low 40s.

  • This Afternoon A chance of snow, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 32. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Tonight Rain, snow, and sleet before midnight, then areas of drizzle between midnight and 2am, then areas of freezing rain after 2am. Patchy fog between 10pm and 4am. Low around 32. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Tuesday A slight chance of rain showers and sleet before 8am, then a slight chance of rain showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. North wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
