West Elementary School moms use MY ECO App as enrichment program fundraiser

West Elementary School is making easy money during holiday food-shopping season without lifting a finger. The school is reaping the benefits of the MY ECO App and Reuse Program, as one of the schools registered to receive donations when shoppers use reusable bags at their local Shaw’s grocery store. West Elementary mom Kala Croce was shopping for ingredients to make gingerbread houses when she learned about the MY ECO program. Kala downloaded the free MY ECO App then used her reusable shopping bags. She was pleased to learn that MY ECO automatically donated the money that would’ve been spent on a disposable bag and gave it to her kids’ school. The app also showed Kala that she saved 11 disposable bags from going into a landfill. West Elementary School’s PTA President Jeanette Christensen also joined MY ECO, so when she purchased a card game for her second grade students, she too donated rewards the school and saved one bag from a landfill. Now every time these moms bring reusable bags, MY ECO will donate to the school, and keep track of the bags they've kept out of landfills.

West Elementary School is encouraging its families to join the MY ECO program to raise money earmarked for the school’s enrichment programs. Families can download the free MY ECO App from the App store, or visit www.getmyeco.com for more information.
