Bournedale Function Facility, the region’s award winning custom events destination since 1937, has completed the addition of a new building on their expansive property, housing a luxury indoor pool, jacuzzi and locker rooms and showers. The new facility was designed to provide a variety of new programs and events to the public, and supplement the services to Bournedale’s premier residential boys summer camp, serving young men from around the world for more than 50 years. The public is welcome to tour the new facility at a community open house on Sunday, November 24, from 1 to 4 pm, at 110 Valley Road, Plymouth.
“We’ve been excited for the debut of this new addition for more than a year,” says Arnie Gerson, second generation managing owner of the property. “Our property offers many beautiful vistas, top-notch facilities and cutting edge amenities. This new addition opens the door to offering local residents as well as visiting guests a new myriad of programs. We’re proud of the results of the beautiful design of the structure, and the intense planning that went into making a spectacular addition to our grounds.”

Bournedale Function Facility encompasses 15 acres of private waterfront facilities and abundant amenities in South Plymouth. A sandy lakefront beach sets the stage for the adjacent reception hall complete with indoor/outdoor dining spaces. Overnight accommodations welcome over 100 guests to casual country housing on site. The level of excellence is taken seriously by the staff and management as the area’s destination wedding site, also home to private corporate outings, reunions and retreats, business and political functions, educational programs and special events. The new independent indoor heated pool facility boasts an 8-person Jacuzzi, men’s and women’s restrooms, changing rooms and showers, and a vaulted ceiling with two walls of glass sliding doors overlooking the grounds and picturesque Great Herring Pond. The structure is also located adjacent to the campus’ indoor gym, tennis and basketball courts and athletic fields, which can be utilized in tandem to the pool facilities.

New programs are currently being developed for the pool, including private Red Cross certified swim lessons, water aerobic classes, member open swim, scuba certification classes, and more. To complement these offerings, a nearby building has been renovated for the addition of yoga classes, massage services and therapy programs. As an independent facility, the pool can also be privately rented to house birthday parties or special occasions, and “stay-cation” options are in the works to allow local residents to utilize the property as a closeby “home away from home”.
The community open house is open to the public, no reservation necessary. Guests will be welcome to tour the grounds and new facility, enjoy refreshments, and learn more about the new aquatic, yoga and spa programs available.
