KINGSTON, MA, ISSUED AUGUST 8, 2013…The Committee to Re-Elect Tom Calter will host a birthday fundraiser for Representative Calter Thursday, August 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the home of Tom and Patty Calter, 26 Rosewood Drive, Kingston.

Turning a year older is always better when surrounded by friends! Friends and constituents are invited to celebrate the summer and the Representative’s birthday at a casual backyard barbecue with good company, music and good cheer.  A new addition to the event will include a raw bar sampler from local Island Creek Oysters.

Suggested donation levels are $35, $50 or $100. All proceeds from the event will help prepare for Tom’s next race and help fund the district constituent office.

“This is a great opportunity to let Tom know what a fantastic job we all believe he is doing on our behalf, and to wish him well in the coming year at the same time,” said Amy Belmore, Campaign Manager. Anyone wishing to RSVP in advance, please contact Amy at abbelmore@hotmail.com.  Tickets can be paid at the door or reserved in advance by sending a contribution, made payable to Committee to Elect Tom Calter, to PO Box 308, Kingston, MA 02364.

Representative Calter was first elected in 2006. Previously, he served his hometown of Kingston, MA as Vice Chairman of Kingston’s Finance Committee, and as a member of the town’s Rent Control Board, the Jones River Watershed Association, and the Silver Lake Regional School Committee. He and his wife Patty are parents to three children: Ryan, Kerri, and Patrick; and grandparents to a growing family.

Prior to serving in this role, he worked in the environmental service industry for more than 30 years. He has worked on the front line responding to oil spills and remediating hazardous waste sites across the country. Representative Calter is a graduate of North Adams State College and earned a Master’s Degree from Northeastern University. In his business career, he has served as Senior VP of a publicly-traded company, CEO of the fastest privately held environmental service company in New England, and Senior Partner of RKP Capital Services. He has helped create jobs, mentor young professionals, and helped to re-build struggling organizations.
