Five Things: Authors, Music and More

1. Business After Hours will be held Tuesday, July 23, hosted by Paul and Jean Quintal of Plymouth Cruises. Network and socialize aboard Plymouth Cruises. The boat boards at 5:45 p.m., leaves from 9 Town Wharf in Plymouth at 6 p.m. and returns at 8 p.m. Registration is required and open only to active members of the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce. 2. Project Arts Summer Concert Series continues at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24 at 6:30 PM to 9:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Memorial State Park.

3. Local author Ken Brack recounts the personal stories found along the 190-mile route of the Pan-Mass Challenge in his new book, Closer by the Mile. Ken 
will be coming to The Book Shack at the Independence Mall, July 25 at 6:30 -7:30 p.m. He will be talking about his experiences and signing his books before the Big Event with Frank Santos. 

4. The public is invited to attend a summer series of mini-lectures on local history at the 1749 Court House in Town Square. Each “history half hour” features a topic related to Plymouth history. Lectures are held from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 20, and are free and open to the public; no reservations required. July 23, Denise Lebica, historical clothing and textiles manager at Plimoth Plantation, presents “Wearing History,” a talk on her work in recreating authentic colonial clothing for the renowned living history museum.

5. Camp Clark is offering after-camp swim lessons for the general public.  Lessons are available for ages 6 months up, including private lessons.  Classes will run in two week sessions, with session 3 running from 7/29-8/9, and session 4 from 8/12-8/23.  The cost is $50 for 30 min lessons, and $57 for 45 min lessons.
