Christmas in Historic Plymouth Features Carolers, Tree Lighting

Here are five things you need to know Friday, Dec. 6.

1. There is an 80 percent chance of rain in Plymouth on Friday. The high will be around 55, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Carolers, storytellers, Santa Claus and the illumination of the Town Christmas tree will all take place in Town Square and the surrounding area on Friday evening. Events will start at 5 p.m., followed by a parade at 6 p.m. and the tree lighting at 6:15 p.m.

3. The Second Annual Winter Lights 5K in Plymouth will take place at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. When the tree lights go on, the race will start. The 5K will begin at North Street on Main Street and follow to Nelson Street to Water Street to Stephen’s Field to Sandwich Street ending back on Main Street at North Street.

4. Plimoth Plantation will hold "A Night of Food and Film" featuring the film "We The Tiny House People," which explores the trend of small homes on Friday. Tickets are $30 per person.

5. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high around 42, according to the National Weather Service. On Sunday, the high will be near 37 and the skies will be partly sunny.
