Plymouth Tubist Adam Porter to Perform With The Colonial Brass Airforce Ensemble at South Shore Conservatory
Shore Conservatory is delighted to present The United States Air Force Band of Liberty’s brass ensemble, The Colonial Brass, in concert on Sunday, April 3, 4 pm at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham. This performance of patriotic songs is appropriate for audiences of all ages, and is free and open to the public. It is the final performance in the 2010/2011 Conservatory Concert Series.
The Colonial Brass utilizes a wide repertoire of music from Bach to Sousa to Miles Davis. They have appeared at prestigious venues such as the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), and the New York Brass Conference. Whether playing for children in schools, recital halls, or in the town band stand on a summer evening, the Colonial Brass is sure to dazzle and delight audiences with their wit and artistry
Of the six Colonial Brass musicians, only tubist Adam Porter hails locally from Plymouth, Massachusetts. An Airman 1st Class, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1993 as a Guardsman and joined the Band of Liberty in 2010. Porter finished his undergraduate and part of his graduate work in Tuba Performance at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
