DESCRIPTION:Human Rights Group Hosts Discussion On Wind\nFalmouth Public
 Library on Saturday\, November 10\, from 1 to 4 PM\n&nbsp\;\nFalmouth Co
mmittee on Human Rights will discuss problems with wind turbines near ho
mes. The conference will entertain discussion on principles weighed by c
ommunities and decision makers regarding wind turbine siting.&nbsp\; The
central topic will look at whether energy and environmental goals shoul
d allow communities to lose their interest in human rights and human dig
nity.\n&nbsp\;\nPlanned for the November 10 are presentations by Dr. Nin
a Pierpoint\, author of Wind Turbine Syndrome\; Dr. Sarah Laurie of the
Waubra Foundation from Australia\, which studies health effects of wind
turbines\; Carmen Krogh\, specialist in pharmacology and the human right
s challenge posed by industrial wind power\, from Ontario\, Canada\; Joh
 n Droz\, physicist and expert in the political economics of wind power\;
Kurt Tromposch\, retired engineer\; Lilli Green and Preston Ribnik\, wh
o have documented the experiences of Australians who live near turbines.
Mr. Krogh and Mr. Droz will be at the conference in person while the ot
her members will connect via internet video\n&nbsp\;\nA panel of people
from southeastern New England will relate experiences living with the tu
rbines and the challenges encountered with local boards of health and bo
ards of selectmen.&nbsp\; There will be time for questions and answers.\
n&nbsp\;\nHuman rights work in the context of environmental and energy i
ssues is not new. The siting of any energy producing operation - includi
ng wind turbines\,&nbsp\; nuclear power plants\,&nbsp\; coal powered pla
nts\, etc.\, will always involve human rights concerns. &ldquo\;Neighbor
s must&nbsp\;endeavor to be the best neighbor to the neighborhood. &nbsp
\;The&nbsp\;progress toward a better human condition then becomes a dire
ct function of how we live out our convictions to our neighbors\, in our
  community\,&rdquo\;\nMark Cool - Falmouth resident.\n&nbsp\;\nPlease co
me and ask the question that need asking.
