So I'm a little gray....we are all going to be someday!! Buddy was adopted as a puppy through Friends of the Plymouth Pound. His family has gone through a divorce recently which left Buddy homeless again. He has been fostered by a long time FPP friend and supporter but needs to find a place to call home. FPP is thankful to Laurie Wagner at Doggie Fun & Fitness in Kingston who has offered to foster Buddy for awhile. Due to his age FPP will do a complete health profile on him to insure that he has lots of life left to give a new family. GO BUDDY! To learn how to adopt an FPP pet, go to the …
The Friends of the Plymouth Pound in conjunction with Promising Hope Sanctuary in Middleborough are seeking shelter for cats that may not be suitable as house pets. Friends of the Plymouth recently received a grant from The PETCO Foundation to spay/ neuter and vaccinate the feral cats and kittens in a specific colony living in the Middleborough area. These cats cannot be returned to the area that have been occupying as the abandoned building that they have been calling "home" is destined to be demolished in the near future. A barn setting would be a wonderful alternative for these cats most …
Public Relations students always need a project on which to practice. This semester Curry College students took on Friends of the Plymouth Pound. "The best way to learn is hands on, or in this case a 'paws' on approach," Kirsten Whitten said. Whitten, a public relations professor is teaching the principles of public relations to a group of continuing education students at Curry. The students were able to choose any nonprofit organization and put together a public relations plan to assist in the areas which needed the most work. They quickly decided on the Friends of the Plymouth Pound. As …
Shadow is a four year old calico cat. She has a severe flea allergy which was not treated in her former home so her hair is now growing back. Shadow would love nothing more than to sit on someone's lap in a quiet environment. She can be feisty so should not go in to a home with small children. Shadow would prefer to be the queen of the household if possible as the one and only feline residing in her new forever home. Visit Shadow and the other FPP cats for adoption at the Friends of the Plymouth Pound Adoption Center located in the Independence Mall in Kingston (next to Sears) daily from 10--…
Speckles, a gray male tabby cat, went missing from the Friends of the Plymouth Pound's adoption center Christmas Eve. Volunteers believe the kitten, which needs immediate medical attention, was stolen between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m. Dec. 24. According to FPP President Gayle Fitzpatrick, witnesses say they saw a tall teenager with dark hair inside the adoption center when it was closed. He was wearing an FPP T-shirt taken from the rack of shirts for sale so witnesses believed he was a volunteer. The teen apparently saw the witnesses and went through the back door. However, no volunteers were …
Guido is a great boy. He was found as a stray by one of FPP's long time volunteers. He has been in foster care for several months now. Guido has gained his weight back and become a beautiful boy. Guido gets along with other cats and larger dogs (he doesn't seem to care for the littlest dog in the house but likes the two lab sized dogs...figure that one out!!) Guido is approximately 2--3 years old and would be a great addition to the right family. Adoption applications are located at www.fpp.petfinder.com
Peanuts is a 12-year-old beagle who finds herself in need a new home in her senior years. Peanuts has a sad story which we will not indulge at this time...serious inquires will be informed of her entire ordeal. She is in a foster home at this time with cats and other dogs and has been a very good girl. She deserves a great forever home. FPP does not discriminate in our adoption program. Many shelters (most shelters) will not take senior animals for adoption. Adoption applications are located at www.fpp.petfinder.com
This wonderful guy is Guido. He looks a little bored in his foster home but is happy that he is not outside where he had been left to fend for himself. Guido is a sweet boy and would make a nice addition to loving family. Guido showed up at an FPP volunteer's home starving and flea infested. He has been cleaned up; neutered; vaccinated; combo tested; de wormed and microchipped. Applications for adoption are available at www.fpp.petfinder.com
Rosie is a 10-week-old kitten. She was part of a feral colony that FPP volunteers are trapping and spaying. When young kittens are trapped, FPP sends them in to foster homes so that they will not have to be returned to the outdoors. Rosie will now have the chance to live a life from the inside looking out. Adoption applications are available at www.fpp.petfinder.com. FPP in not affiliated with the Town of Plymouth Animal Shelter.
Kitten season is upon us and most shelters and humane societies have a variety of kittens in need of loving homes. The Friends of the Plymouth Pound has two kittens in foster care with a Friends volunteer. These kittens were found as strays, along with their mother who has since been spayed. They are well adjusted due to the human contact they received from a very young age. Now eight weeks old, they will be neutered this week and will then be available for adoption. Applications for adoption are available online at www.fpp.petfinder.com
Penelope was found as a stray in a local town. A wonderful woman is feeding her and has been able to handle her so we are assuming that she had a home at one time. She is under one year old. Penelope will be spayed and medically treated this week and ready to go into a new INDOOR home. Adoption applications for any of Friends of the Plymouth Pound cats or dogs are available at www.fpp.petfinder.com This photo was taken by the woman who is feeding her. She will be cleaned up as soon as she comes in to FPP's adoption program.
Tiny is a wonderful, well behaved five year old hound-mix girl.
Midnight is approximately 3-years-old. She is a very friendly girl and would make a great companion to someone. She was given up by her owner who went in to a nursing home. Midnight has a cat "companion" named Boots and would do fine with another feline in her new home. If you're interested in adopting Midnight or any of FPP's dogs or cats, visit www.fpp.petfinder.com and fill out an online application.

Mieko is a 4-year-old husky/lab mix who loves to take car rides. He weighs 70 pounds and is good with cats, kids and strangers. He is housebroken. Mieko is playful and full of life. He would require a fenced yard as he is prone to want to wander when outside. Contact the Friends of the Plymouth Pound to find out more about Mieko and FPP's other dogs and cats at http://www.fppshelter.org/fpp.aspx.
Anyone interested in adopting this gray beauty should fill out an on line application at www.fpp.petfinder.com
Bud was found wandering a neighborhood as a stray. The Friends of the Plymouth Pound has learned that he was on his own and living in the woods at the end of a neighborhood streets for 6--12 months. People in the neighborhood would leave food for him but were unable to capture him. He roamed by day and went in to the woods and would howl all night. His story is a heartbreaking one. A wonderful woman finally decided to try to gain his trust and started leaving food and comforters for him to sleep on as the winter was approaching. One day she sat down and talked to Bud and lo and behold - he …
Charlie is a very handsome orange tabby. He was found as a stray and brought in to FPP when the people who found him exhausted every avenue of finding his owner. Charlie is estimated to be approximately three years old. He has a great personality (most of our orange males do for some reason) and gets along well with other cats. Charlie is presently in a foster home with an FPP volunteer and we are receiving only good report cards from foster mom. If interested in adopting Charlie or any of FPP's cats or dogs that are waiting for forever homes...please fill out the on line adoption …
