Accomplishments:  Jayson earned his Eagle Scout merit badge in December 2010, the ceremony for which was held this May.  He has been active in scouting since he started as a Tiger Cub in first grade.  Jayson credits scouting for many skills he has developed, especially in leadership. He will pursue an education in criminal justice in the fall at Edison State College in Naples, Florida.  While at Plymouth North, he was active with the school’s athletic program, playing four years of football and four years of spring track.  He was a captain this year for the spring track team and has earned many awards for his accomplishments. Jayson received the Coaches Award 2009, 2010, and 2011 in Spring Track.  He also received the ACL All Star award in 2010 in track and field and holds the javelin school record at PNHS.  Jayson volunteers for many community projects, including the Hedge School playground, Kids Voting, Plymouth Rock Studio, and VFW beatification projects.  His Eagle Scout project was at Blessed Kateri Parish in their religious education area. He has also volunteered for several years with Special Olympics at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne.

Keys to Success: “Believe in yourself.... no matter what obstacles may get in your way, believe you can overcome,” he says. “Recognize the people around you that support you – family, teachers, leaders and coaches – they are there to help you reach your goals.”
