TELL US: Would You Want a Marijuana Dispensary in Plymouth?
The medical marijuana ballot initiative passed last Tuesday, which means up to 35 medical marijuana dispensaries can open in 2013. Would you be OK with having one in Plymouth?

Medical marijuana is coming to Massachusetts. The question is: where?
The medical marijana ballot initiative that passed in Tuesdays election with 63 percent voter approval means that up to 35 medical marijuana dispensaries can open up in the state in 2013.
The new law goes into effect January 1, but requires rules and regulations be set up by the Department of Public Health.
Some towns and cities, such as Quincy, reportedly are already trying to line up regulations that would keep dispensaries out of their municipalities, which have proved troublesome in some of the nine states where medical marijuana dispensaries have been legal.
What do you think? Is this a classic case of NIMBY (fine, but Not In My Back Yard)? Or do medical marijuana dispensaries really not make sense in Plymouth, but they're fine somewhere else — and if so, why?

I have no problem with a dispensary or coffeeshop opening up on my block. And although I have no interest in ever using marijuana, I have no problem with my local supermarket selling marijuana alongside the beer, wine and tobacco it currently stocks. Marijuana is FAR safer than alcohol and should be legalized just like beer and wine.

I regret the "yes" decision voted in and I would regret the selling

As we have obsserved in other state's, first its medisanal then its recreational, Its still aganist federal law, and I don't think we should break federal laws. As far as it being safe nothing you suck into your lungs is safe, any chemicals you add into your body such as THC causes different effects on different people, some laugh, some cry, some get depressed,, some get violent, and few get happy. I lived through the 60's 70's and 80's.Too many of my smokeing friends have a dozen cancers that are assoiated with pot smokeing. it may ease pain in some and increase pain in others. Don't tell me its safe.A pot shop is a crime shop.
