Sheldon Not Giving Up Yet in Republican Primary

Christopher Sheldon of Plymouth told his supporters that he intends to make sure "the intent of the voters is honored."

With 39 votes separating Adam Chaprales and Christopher Sheldon in the Republican primary for the 9th Massachusetts Congressional District, Sheldon isn't giving up.

In an email sent late last night, as suppporters and reporters waited for the final tallies from small towns like Hanson and larger towns like Middleborough, Sheldon told his supporters, in so many words, that he intends to fight to the last man.

As I am writing this note, the final vote tally in our primary election is not yet known. The margin between the two candidates is extremely small, and a victor has not yet been declared. We appreciate the professionalism and hard work of our election officials who have supervised this election, and we look forward to working with the city and town clerks to make sure that the intent of the voters is honored and reflected in the final results.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. We are optimistic that the final results in this election will be favorable, and look forward to being a part of a Republican victory in November.
