Poll: How Far in Advance Do You Plan for Valentine's Day?

Did you make reservations for your favorite restaurant months ago? Or are you flying by the seat of your pants on the day? Take the poll and add your comments.

Valentine's Day is on Tuesday, February 14. One week from today. You have been warned. There's still plenty of time to make reservations at a restaurant, order flowers, write a poem, or organize a scavenger hunt for the love of your life.

The size or price (or lack of) isn't always important. Macaroni necklaces are some of the most cherished gifts ever, but probably if you haven't been married to the person for 40 years...

Check out Patch all week for Valentine's Day ideas and suggestions. And let us know what you're doing for Valentine's Day in the comments section.

I normally make a reservation a few ahead of time, to prevent the 2-hour wait for a table.

I'd say it varies from year to year. But I'm a newlywed so I think we're required to celebrate our first V-Day as a married couple in some sort of style. Anyone got any recommendations on restaurants for Valentine's Day?

"Water' restaurant at the Harbor View in Edgartown has a romantic setting and the cuisine is always fresh and well presented. Weather permitting - take a stroll down to the Edgartown Lighthouse or, ask someone to take your photo across the street with the scenic lighthouse and outer harbor in the background.

David, if you two like French, Craigie on Main is lovely.

Craigie is great, but I really do love Cuchi Cuchi for V-day. There is just something so romantic about the atmosphere there and the drinks are amazing.

We love Marliave in Boston, a little, romantic French place hidden behind Tremont St...so nice!
