Plymouth Man Facing Trial in January on Drug Charges

Evan A. Figueiredo, 24, of 7B Marc Drive. Apt. 2, Plymouth had charges of distributing a Class B substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws continued to Jan. 19 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court. The charges stem from a Feb. 11, 2010 incident in the parking lot at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree at 8:19 p.m. when Figeuiredo was found by police to be in possession of a prescription bottle of Oxycodone and $550 in cash.

Woman charged with OUI due back in court on Dec. 20

Charlotte M. Odier, 21, of 54 Onion Hill Road, Duxbury had charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle continued to Dec. 20 for a pretrial hearing in Plymouth District Court. The charges stem from a Nov. 12 incident at 2:46 a.m. on Federal Furnace Road in Plymouth.

Homeless man to face court hearing on drug charges in January

Christopher J. Schneider, 21, homeless, had charges of possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute, possession of a Class A substance, and two counts of possession of a Class C substance continued to Jan. 20 for a pretrial hearing in Plymouth District Court. The charges stem from a Nov. 13 incident at 10:37 p.m. on Beaver Dam Road in Plymouth.

Alleged five-time drunken driver to face jury in March

Bruce D. Labbate, 55, of 339 Spring St., Marshfield had charges of fifth-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to wear seatbelt continued to March 8 for a jury trial in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Oct. 25, 2010 incident on Derbery Street in Hingham at 7:11 p.m. when police observed a vehicle operating in an erratic manner and pulled the vehicle over.

Case of alleged second-offense drunken driver moves forward

Kathleen M. Gilbrook, 49, of Russell St., Quincy had charges of second-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation continued to Dec. 16 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Oct. 28 incident in Hingham at 9:42 p.m. when police responded to a report of a head-on accident on Summer Street at the Route 3A rotary. There they found Gilbrook in the driver's seat of her vehicle. She said she was not hurt. She was on her cell phone but was not having a conversation, police said in the incident report. Police then detected an odor of alcohol. Gilbrook allegedly told police she had consumed two White Russians in Weymouth and did not know what caused
the accident. Police administered field sobriety tests and arrested her based on suspicion of her being under the influence of alcohol. Police later administered a chemical breath test. Gilbrook had a blood-alcohol level of .17, police said. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Case of alleged third-offense drunken driver moves forward for hearing

Robert F. Gruszka, 42, of 18 Squanto Road, East Weymouth had charges of third-offense drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation continued to Feb. 7 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Nov. 3 incident on Route 3A in Hingham at 11:53 p.m. when police observed a BMW cross over the solid yellow diver lines into the oncoming lane, then drift back into the correct lane of travel. Police stopped the vehicle and said they detected a strong odor of alcohol on Gruszka, who allegedly told police he had consumed a "couple" of drinks previously. Police admininstered field sobriety tests and arrested him based on suspicion of him being under the influence of alcohol. He refused a chemical breath test.

Quincy man charged with OUI to appear at hearing

Joseph C. Hajjar, 61, of 86 Edinboro Road, Quincy had charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation continued to Dec. 20 for a hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Oct. 31 incident on Route 3A in Hingham at 2:07 a.m. when police observed a green Honda sedan drifting between travel lanes. Police stopped the vehicle and said they could detect a strong odor of alcohol through the open driver's side window. Police administered field sobriety tests and arrested Hajjar based on suspicion of him being under the influence of alcohol. Police searched the vehicle and found two empty Budweiser Light cans, two ice packs, two empty nip-style bottles of
Smirnoff Vodka and Jim Beam whiskey, a half empty bottle of E&J brandy, and a full nip bottle of Smirnoff Vodka. Hajjar refused a chemical breath test, police said in the incident report.

Alleged three-time drunken driving to appear at hearing in January

David N. Manchester, 52, of 13 Richard Road, Hingham had a charge of third-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol continued to Jan. 27 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham District Court. The charge stems from a Sept. 5 incident on Broad Cove Road in Hingham at 5:52 p.m. Police said Manchester was allegedly sitting in his vehicle parked outside The Lobster
Barn but denied drinking alcohol. Police noticed the key was in the ignition. Manchester exited the vehicle and appeared to stagger. He refused to be administered voluntary field sobriety tests and was then arrested. Police did a pat-frisk of Manchester and allegedly found him in possession of a half-full, 200ml bottle of Ruben Vodka in his right pocket. He later was administered a chemical breath test and had a blood-alcohol level of .25, police said in the incident report.

Hingham man charged with OUI given probation

Matthew C. Finnegan, 25, of 13 Sycamore Lane, Hingham was given probation until Nov. 28, 2012 on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. A judge also instructed him to complete an OUI program. He will lost his driving priveleges for 45 days, according to court documents.
