Plymouth Man to be Arraigned on Assault and Battery Charge

Correction: The charge of assault and battery against Kenneth L. Laytin was dropped; therefore, he was not arraigned on Dec. 22.

Kenneth L. Laytin, 62, of 56 South Meadow Road, Plymouth is scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of assault and battery on Dec. 22 in Plymouth District Court. The charge stems from a Dec. incident at 7:44 p.m. on South Meadow Road.

Assault and battery case continued for hearing in January

Randall E. Silva, 33, of 33 Sleepy Hallow Drive, Plymouth had a charge of assault and battery continued to Jan. 27 for a pretrial hearing in Plymouth District Court. The charge stems from a Dec. 2 incident at 5:49 p.m. on Sleepy Hallow Drive.

Fourth-offense OUI drugs case heads for hearing in January

Jennifer L. Healey, 31, of 101 Scenery Lane, Johnston, R.I., had charges of fourth-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, operating while under the influence with license under suspension, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a Class A substance, and possession of a Class B substance continued to Jan. 14 for a hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a July 15 incident in Hingham during which police observed a Nissan sedan traveling on Central Street that almost came to a stop at a bend in the road at Main Street. The vehicle then crossed over the median double lines. Police stopped the vehicle and noticed on the dashboard a glass pipe. Healey allegedly denied using drugs, but police later found multiple prescription bottles inside the vehicle, and inside her purse they found a small plastic baggy that contained what they suspected to be heroin and seven hypodermic syringes.

Third-offense OUI case goes to hearing January

Michael A. Keddy, 47, of 329 North Ave., Rockland had charges of third-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation continued to Jan. 4 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Aug. 6 incident in Hingham when police observed a vehicle traveling in an erratic manner on Main Street. Police stopped the vehicle and administered field sobriety tests, then arrested Keddy on suspicion of being intoxicated.

Second-offense OUI case faces jury motion in January

Mark S. Savoy, 52, of 45 West Division St., Apt. 1, Holbrook had charges of second-offense operating while under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation continued to Jan. 31 for a jury motion in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a July 9 incident in Hingham at 6:40 p.m. when police observed a vehicle traveling in an erratic manner on Broad Cove Road. Police
stopped the vehicle, administered field sobriety tests and arrested Savoy on suspicion of being intoxicated. A chemical breath test showed he had a blood-alochol level of .10, according to the police incident report.

Hingham man has drug charges dismissed

Thomas A. McCann III, 27, o 292A Whiting St., Hingham had two counts of possession of a Class E substance dismissed in Hingham District Court at the request of the prosecution. A third charge of operating after license suspension was continued without a finding of guilty to June 7, 2012. The charges stem from a June 8 incident in Hingham at 3:23 p.m. when police observed McCann operating a motor vehicle on Lincoln Street and that his license had been revoked. A search of the vehicle found 14 precription pills, police said in the incident report.

Second-offense OUI case in hands of jury in April

Francis B. Mulkern, 66, of 5 Three Ring Road, Scituate had charges of second-offense operating while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to keep right from an oncoming vehicle continued to April 4 for a jury trial in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Sept. 7, 2009 incident in Hingham at 11:08 p.m. when police on Central Street
observed a vehicle approaching over the road's center. The vehicle then made a left turn without signaling. Police stopped the vehicle on Lincoln Street and detected an odor of alcohol from inside the vehicle. Police administered field sobriety tests and charged Mulkern with being intoxicated. A portable breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was .162, according to the police incident
report.
