Drug case continued for hearing in February
Jennifer R. Luz-Woodbury, 39, of 61 Pleasant St., Plymouth had a charge of conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws continued to Feb. 29 for a pretrial hearing in Plymouth District Court. The charge stems from a Jan. 11 incident at 10:01 p.m. on Samoset Street in Plymouth.

Drugged-driving case goes to hearing in March
Keith J. Hawkins, 23, of 22 Cottage St., Weymouth had charges of driving under the influence of drugs, refusing to produce license/registration/plates, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, and disorderly conduct continued to March 7 for a hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Aug. 11, 2011 incident in Hingham at 1:15 a.m. when police noticed a vehicle without a headlight straddling the fog line on North Main Street. Police stopped the vehicle. When police asked Hawkins to step out of the vehicle, he allegedly became aggressive, then combative, flailing his fists at the officer. Police used pepper spray to subdue Hawkins and arrested him.
Drunken driving charge continued without a finding
Kyla C. Horton, 20, of 92 First Parish Road, Scituate had a charge of drunken driving continued without a finding of guilty to Jan. 22, 2013 in Hingham District Court. A judge dismissed related charges of negligent driving, driving after license suspension. Horton was found responsible for possession of an open container of alcohol and a marked lanes violation. The charges stem from a Aug. 30, 2011 incident on Main Street in Hingham at 2:23 p.m. when police noticed a vehicle traveling well below the speed limit and decided to stop the vehicle. Detecting an odor of alcohol from the vehicle, police administered field sobriety tests and arrested Horton on suspicion of being drunk. A chemical breath test revelead a blood-alcohol level of .12, according to the police incident report.
OUI case moves to hearing in February
Veronica L. Nguyen, 23, of 38 Massasoit Ave., Hull had charges of drunken driving and a marked lanes violation continued to Feb. 7 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham Distict Court. The charges stem from a Aug. 19, 2011 incident in Hingham at 1:51 a.m. when police stopped Nguyen's vehicle and arrested her on suspicion of beig intoxicated. A chemical breath test revealed a blood-alcohol level of .09, according to the police incident report.
Attempted murder case to be heard in March
Robert M. Salzman, 58, of 344 High St., Hingham had charges of assault and battery and attempted murder continued to March 7 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Nov. 28, 2011 incident in Hingham. Police were dispatched to 344 High St. for a report of a disturbance. Salzman's wife allegedly told police that when she came home after walking the dog, Salzman said he wanted a divorce, then grabbed his wife by the neck and tried to strangle her. When the woman got free she dialed 911, according to the police incident report.
Alleged bank robber to face hearing in February
James T. Callahan, 58, of 13 Rodgers St., South Boston had charges of armed robbery while masked, assault with a dangerous weapon, and larceny over $250 continued to Feb. 15 for a probable cause hearing in Hingham District Court. The charges stem from a Dec. 6, 2011 incident in Hingham. Police responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Hingham Institution for Savings, 37 Whiting St., and were told by witnesses tha the robber fled in a Dodge pickup truck. The robber allegedly walked up to a bank teller, brandished a black handgun tucked in his waistband, and demanded money in $50 and $100 bills.
Case of alleged shoplifter goes go hearing in February
Mark S. Davies Jr., 24, of 75 Maryknoll Road, North Weymouth had a charge of shoplifting over $100 by asportation continued to Feb. 15 for a pretrial hearing in Hingham District Court. The charge stems from a Sept. 28, 2011 incident in Hingham at 1:49 p.m. when police responced to Kohls department store, 100 Derby St., for a report of a shoplifter. Loss prevention officers told police Davies attempted to steal a $75 jacket by wearing it as he proceeded to walk out of the store with a stolen $35 bottle of fragrance tucked in his pocket, according to the police incident report.
