Expect Snow Tonight

Plymouth will get a bit of snow tonight and between two and four inches Saturday. Nothing we can't handle, but there will be a parking ban Downtown Sunday.

What a difference a year makes.

Last winter at this point, Plymouth had already been through two major snow storms and was preparing for more.

This winter, we've barely had a dusting since October.

Tonight, we can expect another sprinkling of snow, but first it will rain.

According to the National Weather Service Plymouth can expect between two and four inches of snow between tonight and Saturday night. Sunday will be sunny and breezy so get out with the kids and go sledding while you have the chance.

Remember, the groundhog may have seen it's shadow in Punxsatawney, Pennsylvania, but Feb. 2 was overcast here in Plymouth.

Here's the forecast from the NWS for the weekend:

Tonight: Rain showers likely before 2am, then snow showers. Low around 33. West wind between 3 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday: Snow showers. High near 37. Calm wind becoming north between 11 and 14 mph. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Snow showers, mainly before 8pm. Low around 20. Blustery, with a north wind between 14 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 30. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 17 and 21 mph.

The town of Plymouth will institute a parking ban on Downtown roads Sunday morning between 1 and 6:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
